Brandy honored at 2019 BMI RnB /Hip-Hop Awards for “Presidents Award”

On Thursday, August 29th, the BMI (Broadcast Music Inc.) honored those making and paving waves in the music industry from songwriters , publishers , performers , producers and more. Among those being honored was the legendary Brandy, who received the Presidents Award for her impact and longevity she has had in the business. The event was hosted by, BMI President & CEO Mike O’Neill and BMI Vice President, Creative, Catherine Brewton. Some special performances of the night included but not limited to Gunna, Lil Baby and Kierra Sheard. Ray J joined his sister on stage for a surprise tribute , along with Jade Novah, Eric Bellinger and Samoht who also sang some classics on behalf of Brandy’s recognition. The event also honored the top producers and songwriters over the previous year, best-performing R&B/hip-hop songs in the U.S. from BMI’s database of more than 14 million musical works.
